Portable and easy to pack, resistance bands are great for a total body workout. Tone and define whilst recruiting your stabilising muscles improving posture and stability.
Resistance bands can also be used for stretching, either maintenance, developmental or dynamic flexibility training.
Resistance training helps build and maintain lean muscle tissue, helping to increase both our basal and resting metabolic rate which results in a leaner body composition. Lean tissue is incredibly metabolically active whilst fat is not.
Resistance training is especially important as we age, maximal muscular fitness is generally achieved in our 20’s and 30’s and then declines as we age with an average loss of 30% per decade in both men and women.
