Put tobacco style health warnings on salt shakers, say experts

In a new position statement published in the Journal of Clinical Hypertension experts from The World Hypertension League and other global health organizations call for tobacco style health warnings to be placed on salt shakers.

The study authors have proposed the following warning for salt shakers, ‘Excess sodium can cause high blood pressure and promote stomach cancer. Limit your use.’

NOTE: The NHS recommend that adults should eat no more than 6g of Salt a day (equal to 2.4g of sodium)

Attention, some labels only show the sodium content, do not confuse salt with sodium.
