Many Brits unaware that 1/3 of all cancers are linked to lifestyle choices

A new poll by the World Cancer Research Fund found that most Brits are more aware of the link between genetics and cancer than the link between lifestyle choices and cancer.  This is despite 1/3 of all cancers being preventable through improved nutrition, physical activity and weight.  This is in comparison to less than 1 in 10 cancers that are linked to inherited genes.

World Cancer Research Fund warns that too many people are still unaware that their lifestyle choices can affect their cancer risk, stating that "After not smoking, being a healthy weight is the most important thing people can do to reduce their cancer risk - closely followed by not drinking alcohol"
