Obesity Linked to at Least 13 Types of Cancer
A review of more than a thousand studies published in The New England Journal of Medicine concluded that being overweight or obese increases the risk for at least 13 types of cancer.
The review conducted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the WHO also found that children who are overweight are at greater risk of cancer in later life.
Obesity is associated with the following types of cancer; liver, bone marrow, ovarian, stomach, bowel, breast, kidney, womb, gallbladder, pancreas, thyroid, brain and oesophageal.
