The number of girls aged between 7 and 18 who say they enjoy PE has declined
A survey from the Youth Sport Trust charity of almost 25,000 pupils aged between 7 and 18 in England found that fewer than 64% of girls said they enjoyed taking part in physical education compared to 86% of boys. The number of girls who said they enjoyed PE in school has dropped over the past 6 years. The girls identified a number of barriers to being active in school, including not liking being watched by others, not feeling confident, worrying about their appearance and having their period.
