New research from the World Cancer Research Fund asks “Could reducing the consumption of animal fats lower the risk of bladder cancer in men?”
New research from the World Cancer Research Fund found there is a link between dietary cholesterol found in animal fats and an increase in the risk of bladder cancer in men. Bladder cancer is the 10th most common cancer globally, the 6th most common in men and the 17th most common in women.
The study focused on the link between consuming animal fats high in dietary cholesterol and bladder cancer. The participants included 540,000 people from 11 different countries. It was also found that in women the consumption of monounsaturated fatty acids and plant-based oils decreased their risk of developing bladder cancer.
