Banana blossom
Banana blossoms (banana flowers) are tear-shaped maroon coloured flowers that hang at the end of banana clusters. Commonly used in South-Asian cuisine, banana blossoms are eaten both raw and cooked. The petals are fleshy, soft and flaky, making them a great substitute for fish and meat. A great source of fibre, potassium and vitamins including A, C and E makes them a healthy alternative.
