Sabra Silk

Sabra Silk

A luxurious fabric made from Saharan Aloe Vera Cactus (part of the Agave family)

Spiky leaves from the Saharan Aloe Vera Cactus are crushed and soaked in water, washed, dried and then spun to make Sabra Silk

Natural vegetable dyes are used to give wonderfully vibrant colours to the fabric

Woven on hand looms in Morocco, the soft shiny material is used for scarves, throws, wraps and cushions

As a vegan alternative to silk, cacti are quick and easy to grow in North Africa and an environmentally friendly alternative to most other fabrics
